ibook g4 not booting after trying to install os x 10.4.11
Hi,
I'm on an ibook g4, not too sure about specs, think it's 1.3 gz, the current operating system was 10.4.9. It's basically bog standard. I ran the software update today and found i needed to install os x 10.4.11 combo update (ppc). I tried to install the update after downloading, but it quit and said it had been moved to the trash and I could open it again in finder. I tried this but it quit, giving me the standard message that i could reopen or send a report message etc. I tried to reopen a few times but it just kept quitting.
I then noticed the clock was a few hours off, so I tried to change it to the right time, when i tried to save the new time, system preferences stopped responding, so I forced quit. Again I tried to change the time but had to force quit. So I restarted the laptop.
When I restarted it got all the way to the blue screen, the progress bar filled up then it turned off. Now when I turn it on, it stalls at the blue screen but the progress bar never fills up, and there is no beachball, just a pointer, so it's not like it's frozen.
I've tried to boot it in safe mode to no avail. It'd be really great if someone could help me out as this is very frustrating. Thanks
update* Have performed the apple hardware test using the install disk, and no problems were found.
Tried booting from the install disk but got a kernel panic screen. Also the macintosh HD shows up when I access the install disk by pressing option.

if that doesn't fix it then it's the logic board starting to go.
