iPod Nano 2G Issue

I have a second generation iPod nano, silver 2GB. The problem is that whenever I try to turn it on, it doesn't, and if I plug it in to charge it, it immediately says it is charged, and even if I leave it to charge, it doesn't retain anything. So when I unplug it from the charger, be it wall charger or computer charger, the screen starts getting thin white lines across it horizontally. Does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone had a similar problem?

    yes, few days ago my friend was discussing same matter he does have problem. I told him to take to the shop from where he has bought.
