Did you install the 08-02-02 security update beforehand? Can you run 'openssl' and then type version from within to see if it's still version .9.6e?
Can you still install the security update from Jaguar?

I'm not on my Mac just now but I know it doesn't appear in Software Update in Jaguar.

Does it downgrade OpenSSL if you had previously installed the security update? I guess I'll be waiting until the 24th after all.

It will downgrade one to
OpenSSL> version
OpenSSL 0.9.6b 9 Jul 2001
Upgrade/Install will get the same, no matter if you have installed 8/2 update before.
