Yeah I noticed this too, must be a mistake.

I saved an order with Apple UK for OS X 10.2 so that I could check out prices elsewhere before confirming, and I got a strange e-mail from someone at the Apple Store:

Further to your ?Save For Later? order on the Apple Store Website for OSX.2. If you would like any further information on these or offers or any general information please feel free to contact me at your convenience. If you have placed an order for this system please forward the order number so I may remove your saved order from the system. Thank you.

    Regards,

    XXXX XXXXXXXX

    Apple Store

Is my one measly saved order taking up so much space on their system that they have to e-mail me??

Sure, a mistake, but that red color on the "Release Date"...

All pre-release items at Amazon.co.uk have the release date in red. See <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000066DY1/ref=ed_best_h_2_2/202-9734773-7524621"; target="_blank">here</a> for another example.

That's right! The mistake possibility is the most probable, but why August 13? Something to do with hardware announcement? Maybe just a coincidence!

Look at Apple's online store. Now instead of saying "August 24th" like it did when I ordered it, it says "Late August". It could very well be released on the 13th, along with the rumored Powermac updates.

The 13th isn't really late August. It's more like early August.

Okay, well, let's say all the rumormills were right and Jaguar went GM last Friday or whatever. Would that give Apple enough time to get these updates mass produced, packed & shipped and have them in stores by Tuesday?

Well, apparently amazon.co.uk changed their tune. Now they say August 29th.

<a href="http://www.apple.com/macosx"; target="_blank">www.apple.com/macosx</a> still has their countdown set for the 24th though.
