Issues with Network after unlock - HELP

I have the 2g iphone and it was running the 2.1 software with AT&T. I attempted to restore the firmware back to 1.1.4 and do an unlock and it was successful. The problem is that now when I put and AT&T or T Mobile sim card in, it appears it recognizes the sim card, but it will not find the network. So you are unable to make phone calls or connect to the internet.
Anyone have any ideas on why this may be happening and what I can do. I have tried reinstalling the 1.1.4 firmware again and unlocking using ziphone, but it does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
