yes. if u bought osx since mwny02, or a computer w/o jaguar since mwny02, then u are qualified to upgrade (for $20 shipping). otherwise u gotta pay full price.

Do you mean who is eligible for a discounted upgrade price?

Or what Macs can support Jaguar?

For the former, thuhFreek is correct.

For the latter, any Mac that can run 10.0 or 10.1 can run 10.2.

I believe what he means is, did you have to buy 10.0 or 10.1 to use Jaguar, like you have to do with M$ Windows. And the answer is: No. There is only one package, and it works for all compatable computers.

Then again this is still $9 more than the MacOS used to cost for an upgrade like this (previously known as a "X.5" update.) <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> I think "upgrade" pricing should be better. Plus, if I'm buying the education version for $69 do I still get $20 off?

I dont remember where I read it but I thought I heard Apple gave in and is selling the 10.2 upgrade at upgrade price`s to all 10.1 holders? I could be wrong though

If Apple was nicer to their customers, they'd probably make at least as much as they will by overcharging us in the short term. In the long run it's better to treat the customers it has better. It makes sense, if Jaguar was cheaper more people would buy it. Plus, everyone would feel better!

I still think too many people are giving too much weight to the numbering scheme. Don't be fooled just because Apple desingated Jaguar as an incremental upgrade - it's quite a bit more than an incremental upgrade, it's probably big enough to be 10.5 or maybe even OS XI. It comes on two discs for cripes sakes. When was the last time you saw an incremental upgrade take up two discs?
