charge and sync iphone - computer off

Does anyone know of a device that will let me charge/sync my iphone 3g when the computer is on and also charge when the computer is off.



I don't want to be pulling out cables etc.. I want a simple solution that allows me to do this.



I've tried different usb hubs that say the ports are powered on even when the computer is off but they don't seem to work with the iphone 3g. Also, the firewire/usb cable option does not work either when the firewire cable is connected to its power adapter.



ANy suggestions or solutions?

    Charge, I get. But how on Earth could you sync when the computer is off?

    I meant to say charge and sync when computer is on and still charge when computer us off

    I bought a Griffin thingy that allows me to charge my Touch, shuffle and Moto Razr. Plugs into the outlet, has two USB ports and three various cables, and a car charger. $20.00 at Sam's.
