Just thought I would post my 2 cents on this matter. I have a jail broke Iphone 3G on firmware 2.1 and I downloaded a program called Bite SMS. it mimics the crappy apple SMS app almost exactly but also has features to do the wonderful things you should be able to do, that apple wont let you like: delete individual text, forward text, and that?s right landscape text it also has a option you can send text through their server at ten cents a text for people that don?t have a text plan or you can toggle to send via carrier witch I use since I have a text package but it give me all the features I want in text minus MMS but I use the email work around so no big deal to me. It comes with a bad pink icon but if you know anything about SSH you can easily change that. Well that my 2 cents just a idea for you

    I didnt say it would make the app store!!! Im just simply saying it is a route that people can take
