Anyone else think that the Jag version of Samba is crippled?

How do you set a workgroup name besides "workgroup"?

The smb.conf file in /etc is very limited compared to OS X server (or a custom install of the Samba binaries)

FYI: PC's think that Jag is a Windows NT 4.5 server. The Jag build of Samba is 2.2.3a

    Quick update:

Im playing with the smb.conf file. It looks like it can be tweaked and "fluffed up" by rewriting it and adding lines. Apple sure keeps it plain-jane outt the box though!

    Any comments?

Well I too am having problems with SMB.

I am on a 'very large' network (thousands of machiens) and I can't see anything cep those few (80 or so) that are in my own subnet.

Now I did try to go to 'DirectoryAccess' and put in my default workgroup and WINS server (in SMB setup) but then even the 80 or so machines I did see were gone and only one machine was displayed (the machine that is running the domain controler - the one that I entered in the WINS setup).

I can hold my own with the terminal so if you have any advise please let me know.

    Thanks

    Dave
