Incorrect Google ID or Password message when trying to sync with Itunes

Hi there,

I've tried to search this both here and all over the web but I haven't

come across anyone with my exact problem. Every time I try to sync my

Iphone contacts on Itunes with Google Contacts I get a window

prompting me to enter my "Google ID" and 'Password", which I do. But,

every time the same little window pops up again telling me that I've

used the wrong Google ID or Password. I've tried this dozens of times,

copied and pasted my password and ID and even used both my gmail

address with just the username and also with the "@gmail.com" at the

end, but to no avail. I've also reinstalled Itunes and I have the

latest version. I never have any problems syncing to my windows

address book and the Google Contacts seems to be the only problem

area.

Would anyone here have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Darren

    Hi,

I had the same problem, and found a solution under MacOSX.

The sync problem is originated by a permission problem in the keychain of MacOSX. You have to fix permissions with keychain access tool.

Open Keychain Access located in Applications/Utilities, then choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.Enter your user name and password.Select, Verify and click Start. Any problems found will be displayed. If there are problems, select Repair and then click Start.
