broken Imac???

I have an Imac that I use at a school and it went to a grey screen and haven't been able to get anything from it. I put in a apple software test disc and everything read normal except it said memory had an "error". I tried to reinstall Mac os x but when it gets to "select a destination volume to install the mac os x software" no options show up... What else should I do???

    Are you a student? If so, why are you trying to fix it?



    If you are a teacher, I would probably get an IT guy to look at it. Sounds like either the hard drive is malfunctioning or has died.
