I am new to Apple and am sorry for getting off topic but have a quick question...
Does anyone know if I can hook up a PS3 to an IMAC?
thanks

Dude this really is the wrong forum for that question.
But to answer it: yes, but with limited quality and it costs extra. Doesn't work 'out of the box' with a new iMac.
The
Elgato eyeTV Hybrid
or
250 plus
can do it according to their FAQ:
Can I connect my PlayStation 3, Wii, or XBox 360 to EyeTV Hybrid
?
Can I connect my PlayStation 3, Wii, or XBox 360 to EyeTV 250 Plus?
But only via the composite RCA and S-Video connector.

what exactly do you mean connect? If you mean wirelessly to stream media, download media link (google it)
