New to the forum, and also a new Mac user. Bought a new iMac for myself, and also a MacBook for SWMBO. We are really enjoying the Mac's over the PC's we had.

The Mac store, where we purchased the machines at, was promoting a HP C4580 wifi All-in-One printer for $18.00 after rebates. We bought one, even though I hate HP printers.

Well, guess what. It's a piece of junk. Difficult to connect wifi to (I have Time Capsule), won't make copies, won't print in black only, is noisy..........I just hate this thing!!!!! I am ready to take it out in the back yard and empty my .45 ACP at this thing.

OK, I got carried away. You get the picture. So, I am looking for a wifi, b/w laser printer, that will work well with a Mac. I don't care about color, as I am color blind.........so can't see it any way.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated.........thanks,

Ken

Sounds like it is faulty and should be replaced?

If you're really upset, try Canon brands. Just be sure to check Mac compatibility and drivers for Canon brands. IMHO, avoid all-in-ones as they can be cumbersome.

Good luck, office equipment is not very fun sometimes.

I agree with your comments, I've decided not to buy a All-in-One. Just looking for a black/white laser printer. As I understand the laser's are cheaper to operate also.

Years ago I had a HP laser model 1000. The company I worked for shipped it to me. It was a tremendous printer! Lasted for ever, and printed fast. Just can't get used to the inkjets.

I have also heard good comments on the Canon printers..........perhaps I should give them a try. Seems a lot of folks like them.
