Battery issue. Shows as full all day then drops.

Ok so this was the first time this has happened to me but yesterday morning I took my iphone of charge and used it all day quite heavily. By the time I got home in the evening I was amazed to see it was still showing as full. I switched it off and back on again and the battery had dropped to 10% and in the red. Anyone know why this is? I have seen a few rumbles on the Apple forums but thought I would bring it up here and see what feedback I get.

    This has happened to me once before but never again. I wouldn't call it a problem if a reboot fixed it. A problem is when it happens over and over again

    just a little bug in the software, eventually apple will straighten all these up..... so we hope
