iPod Touch updates?

So I'm thinking of finally buying myself an iPod Touch for Christmas, but then I get to thinking: it's been a while since they last updated the line.



Chances are, as soon as I buy it, they'll update it and have it cheaper. We all know how that goes. :P



Is there an expected time line or anything for a new release?

You might want to wait until the end of January. Odds are good that a 64 GB iPod touch will come out (and a 32 GB iPhone). The bad news is look to pay $100 more for it. $500 for a 64 GB iPod touch, and $399 for a 32 GB iPhone.

I was hoping for price drops more than anything, but now that you mention it I'm sure there will be a 64 GB version next update.



I've already settled on the 32 GB version for myself. I don't need any more than that, but I can't deal with only 16 GB. So, that's perfect for me - the $400 price point doesn't have me pumped though, but I can't remember the last time I bought myself something so I'm going for it.



I just wanted to know if there were any updates expected before I went out and bought one. I think I'll wait until the end of January like you recommended - see if anything surfaces.
