Hi all,

Just bought a Macbook Pro but I decided to get a seperate keyboard and mouse.

I don't need wireless although it might be nice if theres one out there that is good enough.

Apple makes a wired and wireless keyboard and I wonder if there are better third party products out there?

For the mouse I currently have the one button older apple mouse wired which is fine but I would love a scroll wheel 2 button mouse.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I also need a stand for my MBP 15 inch to raise it up a little for better viewing (I use it as a desktop computer).

Give the Apple wired keyboard a try. I got one for home and work and if you like the MBP keyboard you'll like the Apple keyboard. Nothing beats in when it comes to compactness and the media keys work with no further configuration or drivers. Plus it feels really solid.

For mice, I've only felt comfortable with Logitech mice. Check out the offerings here. The MX400 is a nice basic full featured mouse.

I assume the wireless keyboard doesn't have USB Ports? I need to get a hub then because I use memory sticks occasionaley. How often do the batteries run down? I'm also considering the wired Apple Keyboard.

Logitech does make nice mice, I will look into that, thanks.

I have two of the wired chicklet keyboards and love them to death. For mice, I use one MS laptop mouse, one Logitech laptop mouse, and one Kensington low-profile laptop mouse.

    Honestly, I prefer the Kensington.

No USB ports on wireless keyboards. And if you get a hub you may as well get a wired keyboard. The Apple one gives you 2 USB 2.0 ports. Batteries get killed in wireless keyboards, in my experience, especially the ones that have little indicator lights, etc.

I agree, I really have no need for a wireless keyboard anyway. Same pretty much for the mouse, I have a wired Apple mouse, although it would be nice to have a scroll wheel.
