Switching Logic Boards in Macbook Pro

I've got a first gen Macbook Pro ? the Core Duo model. The logic board just blew out on it and needs replacing. I was wondering if it would be possible to replace it with a Core 2 Duo logic board from the second generation of Macbook Pros.



Has anyone done this successfully?
