when dragging an icon to the desktop all other icons shift

Not sure if I'm alone with this one or not. I have a bunch of icons, mostly lining the sides and top of the desktop.



I open a web browser and I drag a link to the desktop to access it later. I place it on the leftmost edge, almost off the desktop. All my desktop icons shift to the right.



This only happens if I place the icon halfway through the desktop, if I place the icon elsewhere it won't happen.



Any suggestions?

    Yup, this is a Finder bug that I've seen happen more and more frequently with Jaguar. The only "fix" is to not drop icons on the left side of the screen.

    I'm glad it's considered a bug. I was afraid it was some kind of feature I just didn't understand.
