HELP! Upgrading a 2.4ghz MBP from 2gb to 4gb ram

Hello,

I am the proud new owner of a 2.4ghz MBP. Being on a tight budget, I decided to buy it off amazon to take advantage of their $300 discount (off the comp, including rebate, and the applecare warranty). Unfortunately, since the amazon MBPs are all base-spec models, this meant that couldn't opt for the 4gb ram option.

I am very interested in upgrading the ram, but I'm not great with computers and would hate to put something in my computer that hurts its functionality (i.e. making it more prone to software crashes and error messages). Has anyone done a ram upgrade on a unibody MBP? Have their been any issues? What brand of ram should I go with? I know that accessing the ram slots is a simple procedure that I could do myself, but I worry about how to ensure that the new ram is functioning properly. Should I let the apple store guys do it for me?

I'd really appreciate some guidance!!!
