mbp - 512mb 8600m VS 256mb 9600m - which is faster?

512mb 8600m VS 256mb 9600m - which is faster?



the 9600m is supposed to be a better card, but will it still outperform the 512mb 8600m with only 256mb of memory?

    It depends on what you are doing. The extra VRam will help store high resolution textures but the 9600 will be a bit faster at processing.



    If you don't need the VRam (helpful for motion graphics, 3D rendering), go for the 9600.



    Are the machines the same price?
