Hmmmm. Is Autodesk going to bring anything else over to the Mac? 3DS Max? Inventor? Autocad? Anyway, I love to see new products come out for the Mac. I use After Effects with Maya but have heard great things about Toxik. Can't wait till they have a 30 day trial.

I don't know that they hated the Mac per se, but I hope this is a sign of new thinking on Autodesk's part. If they think there is a market for it, I'm sure they would port programs to the Mac platform. I would really love to see them port XSI to the Mac now that they own that 3D product.

Autodesk like Adobe probably wish that they only had to support one platform to cut costs but creative people use Macs so they need to port the software over.

3DS Max and AutoCAD ports would be great but probably much more complex projects. They'll start small and check for the sales improvement.

Sales will be dying on the PC side because a lot of people will just be upgrading if even that. A new platform means a whole bunch of people buying full licenses.

Autodesk is big into subscriptions. They want to get your money every year. That is one bad thing about them. But I have checked some 3D forums and it is amazing the people who are using Macs to boot up windows and run Max, or even AutoCad.

ToxiK was a new program so they are not really having to port it per se. At least not port a bunch of old code.

In general, I am seeing Macs in the strangest of places. Auditors have been in our company the last two weeks. One of them is using a MacBookPro. A frickin auditor!!!
