Resize partitions

Hi,

Is it possible to repartition a hard drive without loosing data? I have a 500GB external hard drive split into 3 partitions, one for OS X, one for Time Machine, and one was for Vista. I recently upgraded my internal hard drive to a 320GB in my MBP so i no longer need my partition for Vista on my external. I am running low on space for Time Machine so i want to combine the Time Machine and Vista partitions so I have more space for Time Machine to back up. I've tried doing some google searching and have found various programs but all that you have to buy or the trial doesn't let you repartition. Any suggestions?

Use Boot Camp assistant to remove the Vista partition. Then use Disk Utility (Application>Utilities) and you may be able to resize your two Mac partitions. Otherwise, purchasing software is the only way.
