Is Mac vulnerable to malware? Urgent

I visit a satellite site frequently. aaafta.com However recently I get a pop up window before I can enter the site. It warns me that this site distributes malware and my mac is vulnerable to attack. This warning comes from google!

Is this legit? How serious is this? Is my mac safe? I'm using 10.5.5 Safari and Firefox both show the pop up.

I scanned my mac with Clamxav and no viruses were found.

aaafta.com is a free to air satellite download site. Are hackers trying to shut them down and scare users away?

all browsers can be vulnerable to drive by trojans, irrespective of platform.

funnily enough safari is probably the weakest out of the 3 main browsers.

Safari uses Google's Safe Browsing API. See below. The feature is fairly new to Safari. You don't need to have a virus on your computer for passwords and other identity info to be stolen. Simply visiting a site can execute code if your computer is not fully patched or there is a known bug that does not yet have a fix.

I would stay far away from that satellite site as these warnings are legit and you could be in for a world of hurt.

You can't escape if you meet a virus but you can try all you can. I use something old but very efficient and I am ok, my computer is fine and faster. I can recommend you the link if you are interrested http://www.trustdownload.com/Antivir...urity-7.0.html
