just wanted to know if the newly updated $999 macbook white good enough for running logic studio 8? i plan on using the macbook to produce hip hop beats and record vocals.

i currently have a firewire audio interface and firewire external, so thats why the unibody macbook is out of the question.

if i were to get a macbook pro, it would be the 15" previous generation, but i would only want the 512mb card, and thats at least $500 more than the updated macbook white.

so yeah, is logic studio going to run fine on the updated macbook?

The express can be bought with the machine as a CTO

I'd say go for it, based on the specs -

    From the logic 8 page:

Minimum Requirements to Install All Applications
    • • Mac computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4 processor (PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor highly recommended)

    • • 1GB of RAM (2GB or more highly recommended)

    • • Display with 1024-by-768 resolution (1280-by-800 or higher recommended)

    • • Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later

    • • QuickTime 7.2 or later

    • • DVD drive for installation

    • • PCI Express, ExpressCard/34, USB, or FireWire based audio interface recommended
