I know I have seen a few threads discussing how to alter the Jaguar Boot Screen to include a custom image instead of the drab new Dark Grey Apple logo over the light grey background...

Does anyone know if an animated gif image could be used? I would love the following image on my Boot Screen if at all possible...

No, you have to use a static image, at 128 pixels wide by 128 pixels tall, with an indexed 256 color table. If your color table does not match the original table, the rotating progress wheel below the graphic (and maybe other things too) will not look right.

How do you know if the color table matches the original or not?

Well, unless you specifically take the extra step of replacing the default table, it will remain the same.

I wonder why the pre-release Jaguar Hello graphic is not there. Is there no way to exctract it? Hmmmm.
