Why can't I see certain devices in OS X?

Such as video card & sound card?

When I go into System Profiler there is no info on these, a salesperson at my local Apple Store told me you cannot view these in OS X.

    Details, please. What kind of video card and sound card are you trying?



    Creative never wrote drivers for its SoundBlaster Live Mac card for OSX, only for OS9. I doubt it ever will. It was a sheer miracle that Creative Labs released anything for the Mac at all, even though it was immediately doomed for obsolescence without any plans to support OSX.
