Hey all. For some reason occasionally my iBook will give me an error thats showed in the below:

What can you Unix freaks make of that? The first time my brother booted into OS X thats the error he got, or one similar to it. What's the key combination? Thanx. I'd explain it in more detail but I have company and I have to tend to them.

PS. This is a digital cam pic. It was taken at a high resolution. Its a large and wide picture. Please give it time to load.

it means you got a baddddd system, bra.

s'a kernel panic (equivenlent of a OS 9 freeze) everything stops and you HAVE to restart. First of all, i can assume your running pre-10.2 because in 10.2 you get a new message that explains you need to restart your computer.

I suggest two things, fidning something that might effect a low level system resource or re installation with a better system, say 10.2?

Isn't there a way I can update Darwin's kernel? oh and Whats that key combo? im sure there some way i can enter the base coding eventhough i cant do anything. and yes. I'm running 10.1.5. I get an educational discount so i can get 10.2 for under 100 dollars. I'll get it as soon as i have that much cash.

It's a system crash (aka bug). You can stop it from happening by not doing whatever it is you were doing when it happened. Not to be mean or anything, but if anyone here could give you a better answer, they'd be writing code for Apple.
