Best Way To Setup New Mac

I have a new 17" macbook pro arriving soon :-)



What is the best way to get my stuff on to it?



I have been backing up my current mac using Time Machine...is it possible to use that?



Or should I just manually copy over the contents of my User directory?



Thanks for any tips or advice....

    Depend on what you mean by "best way". If it were me I would just copy over my data files and that's it. I'd take the time to reinstall everything from scratch, redo settings... but that's just me
