I just hope that with the new towers(since I think its safe to say they will exceed a ghz)apple doesn't make a big deal about breaking hte ghz barrier, cause pc users will have a field day, better apple stay relativly quiet about passing a ghz, because most pc users don't even know apple hasn't past ghz barrier and WON'T know unless apple makes a big point about it, a friend of mine last night said "yea I think I'm going to get a g4 cause those are the best for video editing, but they are expensive a 2 ghz g4 is like 4000 dollars right?"

I asked if he was thinking P4, but he said "no, the apple g4"

lol maybe he's from the future

    See I disagree with your assertion of Apple's position. Let me explain why Apple SHOULD make a very big deal about it.

    If mhz doesn't matter because our (not accurate but bare with me) if at below 1.0ghz G4's cpompete with Intel's high end-

    G4 800 = Pllll1.4

    then imagine how bad ass Apple would look with their chips over 1.0ghz. If we hung with them below 1.0ghz then we would tromp them at 1.4ghz no questions asked.

    Mhz doesn't matter, because the g4 is faster reguardless of the mhz speed. So what happens when the G4 gets the high mhz speed?

    Answer=It rocks!

    but the general public does not know that mhz is only one factor of the power. They would see it as hey look at those ghetto computers there only at 1 ghz and the pc's are at 2.2. I am just getting so tired of trying to explain the god damn mhz myth to people. although i have seen alot of pc people come around, one of my (PC)friends uses a g4 450 and a pentium 3 800 at his job, and he is blown away by the g4 being 50% faster than the 800. Its sad that i hear my pc friend saying good things about apples and all of us are the ones trashing now <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
