I've got an OS X extension set that lets me start Classic in under 40 seconds. Very nice!
Are hardware things like the FireWire drivers, Ethernet drivers, etc, handled by OS X? Should I disable my Logitech MouseWare?
As far as booting into OS 9, I don't really have enough time to test that out and see how fast it is. I might check sometime.
Anyway, if all you want is to play YDKJ, you could disable everything except stuff having to do with graphics, sound, and I/O. So all your network stuff can go. Of course, if you're wanting to save HD space, not just startup time, then maybe you should think twice about deleting all your OS 9 extensions - the nonessential ones can go, but sometime you may actually want to use OS 9 with something you're disabling, and you wouldn't want to have to reinstall the system in order to get those extensions back.
