OS X.2 and PowerBook G3 Firewire

How do they work together. I have finally gotten the new drivers for my DeskJet G55 from HP and want to move my Cube from 10.1.5 to X.2, but what happens to my BlackBird? It has stayed at 9.1 because that has been stable and meets the needs of transportable compatibility. Anyone willing to comment on how OSX runs on a Pismo?

I have been running Jag on my pismo since the day it was released.

It runs fine, easily as quick as 9 did. No problems at all.

I do not use the powerbook as my "Workhorse" mac but it still gets quite a battering.

Wow, Othello, that is wild

Now I really am tempted. I'm holding out for the next TiBook G4 type, but with all my investiment of bay devices, I would hate to give up the G3 Pismo Blackbird entirely. I am tempted.

Would it help if I said that my Pismo is my *fastest* machine, and that I use it for daily development work? Granted, I don't do graphics, but I do pound on gcc and the command line tools pretty hard. (And TeXShop, and OmniGraffle, and god forbid I should be without Mail, OmniWeb and iChat... kinda getting hooked on iCal too.)

This is great news, and I couldn't have found this thread at a better time. Like others, I have been waiting to upgrade to Jaguar for fear of the dreaded performance hit. Many of my apps. are still Classic-only, so this is all good news.

    Damn Cubit,

We have the same set up. I have a G4 Trinity CUBE (450 mhz) w/ gig ram, 42 GB IBM 7200rpm drive. I am hoping to upgrade to DP 800 powerlogix. Meanwhile I have an expensive DVD player for my TV - Pismo 500 Mhz w/ 12 GB IBM drive w/ 256 + 128 ram. I hope to max it out to 1 GB ram and upgrade to G4 500 proc via OWC. Are you gonna pimp yours?

I have now installed it on three machines:

    1. Pismo 500mhz....384 RAM

    2. IBook 600mhz....256 RAM

    3. iMac 500MHZ.....128 RAM

Jaguar seems to have improved system performance by at least 20% for me. The iMac is noticeably faster. The Pismo runs well....it's worth it.

This is my experience too. 10.2.1 on my Pismo/400 is excellent.
