MacBook Pro Battery Life Question

I just purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro (2.5ghz, 4gb RAM, 320 gb serial @5400) and have a question about the battery life.

On 'extended battery life' settings, it seems as though I run down to about 75% battery life in an hour or less of normal work (mainly CS3 programs).

I know battery life isn't exactly on a linear scale, and to be honest I've yet to drain the thing, but at this rate it seems I'd be dead in the watter in ~4 hours.

Is this to be expected? I'm a new laptop and mac user, and just curious as to whether this is normal behavior. I guess I was expecting the battery to last longer.

first time poster, i apologize for being teh newb.

thanks,

Jiert

It depends what you are doing to get the battery life to last. You can disable bluetooth and plug in ear phones to make the battery last longer and the notebook to not get hot. Screen brightness is another issue along with what kind of programs you are running.
