    Installed and tested--and it does indeed work.



    Unbelievable--that was the last peripheral I had that didn't work in X natively.



    Of course, I buckled 6 months ago and bought an ink jet...so now I need to make room, or sell for a loss.



    nevertheless, i am extremely happy that Epson finally got this done.

    Omigod. I can't believe it. I had never used the Print Center before... it was neat that my 5700i was automatically set up without me having to do a thing.



    Even seems to have some more options not available in the MacOS9 driver? Can't be sure...



    Where's Escher?!?!?! this'll make his day!!

    yes, it is much better than the OS9 driver. I can't believe I actually not only had my printer come back to life, but is BETTER than it has ever been before.

    I still can't believe it either. I am utterly, truly and completely amazed, blown away and flabbergasted.

    Here's some followup: The OS X driver is significantly better than the OS 9 driver. It worked for me on the first try. The installer was a bit clumsy (5 nested layers?), but did the job. I thought the optimizing routine (prebinding?) and restart were a nice touch, even though some might not like that.



    This driver got five stars from me <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16675"; target="_blank">on VersionTracker</a>. As I said in my feedback on VT, I wish I knew who was responsible for this driver so that I could send them flowers.
