Didn't see this posted anywhere, and it's probably a typo, but for what it's worth I noticed this on the requirements page for Microsofts new Intellimouse software...

For Macintosh-based computer

To use IntelliPoint mouse software, you need:

*\tOne of the following operating sytems:

*\tMac OS 8.6 to 9.x

*\tMac OS 10.1 to 10.3 (excluding Mac OS X)

*\t15 MB of available hard-disk space

10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 are (will be) still considered 'Mac OS X.' This IntelliPoint mouse software doesn't work on any version of the Mac OS.

I saw this same thing on a shareware developer's site a week ago. Said something like "supports 10.1 - 10.3". Damned if I can remember the site tho - my memory isn't that good. I didn't think anything of it really.

I wouldn't be surprised if some developers did this occasionally to tip people off, then if they ever caught flak for it they could just say it was a typing error. Probably nothing though. I don't expect more than one major release every 10-12 months anyway. WWDC 03 at the very earliest. Too early to get excited about it, that's for sure.

More excited about 10.2.2 and 10.2.3 (and hopefully an iChat 1.5 somewhere in there).

Hopefully 10.3 will fix all the glaring bugs in 10.2...like broken FTP uploading.

Apple just released 10.2 two months ago. Why would 10.3 be coming "sooner than we think"? Because of a typo for some confused system requirements on one product?

I wager that bug and other prominent performance issues it will be fixed *before* 10.3 - at the rate they're going, we'll see at least three more point releases between now and next summer.

    Patience lad, patience.

Someone so eager to pay for another update? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

We still have 10.2.2 and 10.2.3 and I'm willing to bet the 'dot dot' updates don't end with 3. Nahhh I wouldn't be holding my breath waitin' on 10.3 summer/fall is a long time ya know.

And SilverFast too. Me, I'm waiting for the day I can save up enough money to buy a $2000 digital SLR so I don't ever have to scan a piece of film again.
