Considering the current HDD pricing. Just why do apple not upgrade it the HDD or lower the price?

Because being a publically traded company means they attempt to price their products as high as they can before it affects revenue/profits.

Time Capsule has much more functionality than an ordinary external HDD, and Apple tends to add more features to it over time to keep it priced competitively rather than lower the price. Whether the extra features justify the price is everyone's own opinion.

The point is, you are paying $149 more for 500GB.

One year ago when they first introduce it it makes some sense. 1TB were expensive at the time.

    But now.....

Why not buy a 500 and replace the drive yourself?

I just know that's going to be a dumb question.

That's what I'm learning. With these companies that utilize HDD you have to

see if you can get your hack on. My FIOS DVR comes with a 160GB hard drive.

How pathetic and limiting. I need to look at external options cuz I'm ready to

do some surgery on a it LOL
