Can I print using my Macbook if my printer is hooked up to my Imac

I'm buying a new Imac and want to know if I can print with my Macbook through the Imac, or do I need to buy the Airport thing? tia!

    Generally you would need a print server (Airport, etc.) but some newer printers will print via bluetooth. That may be a good solution for you.

    All you have to do is share the printer from the System Preferences.



    As long as your macbook is on the same wireless network as your iMac you should be able to add the shared printer to your macbook.



    Whenever your iMac is turned on you'll be able to print to the printer.
