Keyboard question

I just got a Spanish keyboard so I can edit Spanish documents easier, instead of several key combos for accents, ñ, ¿, etc...



Only problem I have found, is that the Spanish Keyboard has a comma ( , ) on the numeric keypad instead of a decimal point. Apparently, Spain and some countries in South America use a different numeric format, such being a comma for decimals and periods for thousands (i.e. 100.000,00 instead of 100,000.00).



So, is there a way to make the Spanish Keyboard's numeric keypad "comma" to work as a "period"? I have been told that it is possible under OS 9 via Resedit, editing the "keychar" resource from the System file. Perhaps a similar solution under X?

Yeah, I used to edit the keyboard in Classic Mac OS on "my" Mac in the computer lab. Heheh, I was so evil.

Wow, thanks Brad. That seems to be right on target, albeit I think I will have to read it all more than a couple of times to actually understand how to create a new layout which transforms the numeric keypad comma into a period...

...unless you could be so kind to gimme a quick and dirty explanation on how to do it without having to understand the instructions on those websites.
