Google Sandbox

The Google Sandbox is a metaphorical term to explain why most new websites have very poor rankings in Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). Very few people know for sure if the 'sandbox' actually exists, but it seems to be a filter added to the Google algorithms sometime around March 2004.

The Google Sandbox seems to exist for mainly new websites. I personally feel that it is new websites that have not built up enough of a trust rank within google. The sites may have also gained too many links too fast as a brand new website, and ends up being filtered. Websites that are established and have been on Google for 6 months to 1 year usually do not end up in the Google "Sandbox". If you are a new website that is not being found, work hard on quality and relevant links, and within 6 months you should be out of the "sandbox".

    Hope this helps. thanks.

And if you keep spamming, you'll end up there!

Yea... or it could be you've deployed to many pages too fast. Google likes natural progressed growth. Kind of like Google Slap w/ PPC except you're being slapped on the SEO side for trying to do some black hat stuff. There's different tiers of the Sandbox.

Been hit w/ Google Sandbox and Google slap. Best way to avoid getting hit is just to do things naturally and honestly. Stick to the legit stuff in growing your page. It's not fun getting hit by Google.
