robster, did u ever use CB ?

it's just the easiest tool around. no hunting for icons, CB know where they are and you can just drag & drop new icons in there.

    pure pleasure !

    I don't like CandyBar either.

I despise apps that mangle with my system files and don't tell me what was changed or how to restore them in the case that the app fails.

Um, yes, I have used CandyBar. I test all kinds of apps like this so I'll know how to address people's problems when/if they arise. I've tried Duality and MetamorphX and Blobber all those similar "theme" apps. I try them but that doesn't mean I like them.

When you change an icon in CandyBar it tells you to restart the computer or the Finder, nothing more. I don't like that. When something replaces files in the System, the user should be informed what and where things were changed.

alright, they don't provide the info (at least they don't press it in your face), but CB makes a Backup of all the original system files, which can easily be reverted.

    Good enough for me.

And it even had enough brains to chastise me for already having altered some of the icons and advised me to make a clean restore of the original system icons before using it.

Smart app.. And very slick. =)
