Photoshop CS4 Scratch disk on new mac pro 2009
I am seeking some advice here. I recently purchased a mac pro 2009. It is populated with one of the new mac raid cards and 4 seagate 1.5TB drives. The startup drive is going to be a 300GB raptor.
In the past when I used photoshop (working with large files), I would have the files located on a fast raid (in this case the 4 disk raid 0) and I would have a scratch disk that was separate from everything.
Seeing how the new mac pro has a sata dvd burner, this only leaves room for 1 extra sata drive (my 300GB raptor) which will be used for my OS.
The question is this. Would it be faster to set up a partition on the 4 disk raid or on the raptor for the scratch disk in photoshop?
What would be faster?
