So I'm thinking about upgrading my macbook myself. I'm curious if this is possible. I have an older core2duo with the intel 950 graphics and I'd like to upgrade to the 9400M graphics. But where can I get the new logic board?
I wish I knew. I'd love to put one of the new motherboards inside of one of the black Macbook cases.
You could probably do that pretty easily.
Regarding the Mac mini: the processor is soldered to the board in the new one, so your old CPU is useless. The optical drive on the new one is SATA, so your old DVD drive is useless. The RAM can't be transplanted, either.
In other words: sell the old one and buy a new one.

I agree, it may even work out cheaper this way and you get a machine with a full warranty.
