Calendar won't sync between MacBook and Ipod touch

Ever since the latest version of iTunes, I have not been able to sync the calendar on my Touch to the Calendar on my MacBook. I get the message "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPod because of an error occurred while sending data from the iPod". Does anyone know why?
