How to turn off menu blinking?

It seems silly I have to wait half a second for it to blink, these half seconds add up. Is there a way to turn it off?

I was thinking about it a few days ago, searched on <a href="http://www.macosxhints.com"; target="_blank">Mac OS X Hints</a>, found nothing. And gave up.

Not to say it isn't possible...

    Dream on.

Or start hacking/rewriting the frameworks in Mac OS X or write some kind of hack that interrupts the menu calls (you *might* can do this with APE, but that's just a guess).

    Otherwise, it ain't gonna happen.

Jeez maybe they'll bring back General Controls in 10.3? ...It only took a year for Spring Loaded Folders!

The way I see it, this is one of the big things that makes faster Macs still feel slow. In OS 9, with the blinking on, my iMac 233MHz feels sluggish. With them off it feels very snappy.

I really wish you could disable this in OS X.

In fact I am going to go suggest it to the people who work at Unsanity right now...
