G5 Power Mac RAM question
All--
I recently purchased a G5 Power Mac, dual 2.3 GHz--early 2005. It had the stock 512 Mb of RAM. I have ordered a 2 Gb kit from an online vendor (I don't know if it is OK to mention a particular vendor or not).
I also picked up a pair of memory modules and would appreciate feedback on whether they will work. The specs are as follows:
512MB, 184-pin DIMM, DDR PC3200 memory module
Crucial part # CT6464Z40B
The reason I ask is that the Crucial memory configurator gives a different part number even though the specifications appear to be the same as specified on the Apple support page for the G5. So will the modules I have work, and if not, is there any chance they will damage the G5?
Thanks in advance!
