Applecare validity with hw upgrade

I just bought a new unibody macbook pro (2.4Ghz, 2GB Ram, 250GB HD). I plan to upgrade to 4GB and a 320GB hard drive. I will buy the 3 year Applecare Protection Plan but I am wondering if the Applecare will become void if I upgrade the laptop. The same question applies to the 1 year warranty.

Any information or personal experiences on this point will be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Upgrading the RAM and hard drive will not cause a problem with Applecare.

You're always able to upgrade RAM without voiding the warranty, again as long as you don't mess anything up in the process. Same goes for the hard drive.

Apple would have to prove your upgrades voided the warranty.

You have "stickers" that tell you when the warranty will be broken. Just don't touch them and everything should be fine.
