Got Dolby 5.1 out of Mac mini with iTunes!

All you need to do is go to Applications then Utilities then to Audio MIDI Setup you need to change Digital Out to Encoded Digital Audio that will put Format 48KHz automatically then exit. You then go to a Movie SD or HD and or TV Show select Surround you see the Dolby Digital light up on your receiver! This is a System Output so I been enjoying TV Shows and HD Movies like Casino Royale! Pics of my set up is below!

    That's cool but when I do that on my macmini '09, the encoded setup doesn't stay on encoded when I quit and relaunch midi setup. Thing is I use Perian and I get dolby 5.1 though on my receiver...



    Don't know why it won't stay on the encoded when I quit and relaunch, but at least it works

    Select Digital Out for System and other before you close it. I been fine ever since without 3rd Party. Then Play the Movies with 5.1 select it it should work fine. I got the '09 Mac mini too or you can see in pic.
