Hi

Is there any way on OSX (or is there a 3rd party app) that will display the thoughput of my ethernet.

I have a Broaband Router and like to quickly (and roughly) see what sort of speeds i am getting.

thanks

j.

    Try <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/rominar/net.html"; target="_blank">NetMonitor</a>.

    I just recently gave a brief explanation <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7&t=002786"; target="_blank">here</a>.

I second NetMonitor above all the others capable of it.

I like Menumeters.. an app witch shows many parameters in the menu. Very slick!

I too like menumeters. However, the network monitor graph it gives you is not as customizable as NetMonitor. However, the upside is that the menu bar displays can be dragged and arranged just like the usual menu items. Also, the other indicators (for CPU, memory, and disk activity) all give you some helpful info at a click. I just installed v O.6 and its very nice.

<a href="http://www.iconfactory.com/ip_home.asp"; target="_blank">iPulse</a> is my favorite. It displays much more than the network throughput.

iPulse is neat, but if you need a legend/key to decipher a 'glance at' type app, it's not doing its job.

you don't need to. it just takes a while until you get accustomed to it. then you're ****ing fast. so to speak.
