I bought a 13" Macbook on Saturday. I didn't see the upgrades coming. I loved my Macbook until the update. No problem I when back to the Apple store on Tuesday to return it. They agreed to wave the restocking fee but they didn't have any of the new ones in stock. That was fine with me. I could wait. The manager and I had a nice conversation while they were checking out my return. Somehow, eol pricing came up. On a whim, I asked him what the end of life pricing was for the MacBook Pro 15". I was caught off guard. The 15" MBP was the exact same price as the notebook I was returning. Suddenly, I was torn between the new top range 13" and the EOL base model 15" The new book would have given me twice the ram, twice the battery, and a faster processor. With the 15" I would have gained 2 inches, a better graphics card, and slightly better i/o I went in the store to return an EOL product. I walked out of the store with an EOL product, and I couldn't be happier. I loaded all my stuff up from my time machine backup and everything, including Windows 7 runs scary fast. At the moment, I can't imagine what more speed would feel like. Anyway, think about the EOL's while supplies last. It is an excellent choice.

Lucky you. Congratulations by the way. Of course such a MBP is a quite capable machine. I would do the same in your place.

I just ordered a refurbished MBP 15" for $1349 yesterday from Apple online. It was too good a deal IMO to pass up. I still get my removable battery and EC/34 slot in a 15" form factor.

I used educational pricing with my purchase. I am pretty sure the iPod promotion would apply as well.

Which store agreed to that? I am returning mine tomorrow or Saturday. I bought a MBP on Sat. I am getting the updated one today or tomorrow.
