Need help restoring iTunes library

Okay, so I just decided to manually update to iTunes 8.2 manually from the apple site but to my dismay it appears that my library just disappeared. I found that I still have my previous iTunes library updated to today's date with all of my songs and movies but when I try to open it nothing happens. Can anyone please help me get my much loved iTunes library back?
