The Mac. I own a lab's worth of Dell laptops for work because hat's who the corporate contract is with. Major support pain, every stinking quarter. I haven't had to do a support call on my MBP in two years.

Time is more expensive than a quick purchase. If personnel support for those Dells came out of my budget, not IT's, I would have paid for them twice by now.

Pretty much ditto what Hiro said.

    Plus:

It is not just specs as Microsoft has tried to make it in their recent ads.

Look at the OS (no comparison) and the included apps in addition to the ones you can get cheaply compared to their counterparts (iWork's Pages, Keynote and Numbers) that all work similarly and together.

Also consider the Mac runs both Mac OS and Windoze, if absolutely necessary.

Not even a debate in my book.

No offense Russell...but when you ask a question like that in an all Mac forums...what kind of answers do you expect?

I love the Apple OS, but I also own a Dell XPS 1530 and a Studio 15, I have never had problems with any of them. As far as support goes, Dell is probably the best support you can get that isn't apple. It really boils down to preference and how much money you are willing to spend.

If you want to spend a little extra and you prefer the Mac OS...then the obvious choice would be go with the Mac. If you want to get a computer with similar specs and you don't have an opinion on OS and you would rather save some money...go with the Studio 15.

    Just saying.
